Transits (Gochar ), means Motion/Movement of planets into 12 signs ...
A planet during their transits through various signs gives results as per the benefic or malefic positions in the horoscope. With transits aspects changes. The different planets give the predominance of their effects in different moon signs they transits.
Transit results are significant as in effects as much as they append and modify the dosha and bhukti results. for instance, a person is having Jupiter Mahadasha and Jupiter is well placed in the natal chart. If in transit Jupiter gets into debilitation or in an unfavorable (3, 6, 8) position the result of the dasha as long as Jupiter remains unfavorable would be slightly unfavorable. The same would apply to the bhukti lord. Thus when we are judging the dasha and antardasha( bhukti) results we should also see how the dasha lord and antandasha lords are placed with reference to Natal Moon and with reference to each other. Also if they get into 6th-8th position b/w themselves, they would adversely affect the dasha and antardasha(bhukti) results.
All the losses borne away by 12th and 1st transited Jupiter, would be redeems and restores when Jupiter transit in the 2nd Bhav. Similarly whatever he has taken away when in the 8th, is restored when he is in the 9th. Therefore Jupiter being auspicious planet work as a redeemer and its transits results are actually a blessing by the Lord Jupiter .
Transit Jupiter is highly auspicious & favors in 2, 5, 7, 9 and 11 houses from moon sign and transiting in 1,3,4,6,8,10 houses bad effects are realized.

Planets while transiting unfavorable houses identical with their exaltation, own or friendly signs will produce only very mild and ordinary bad results while in their inimical and depression signs they will produce maximum miseries.
During the transit if the planet receives benefic aspects or association good results will be increased and bad results will be reduced, whereas if the aspect or association be malefic, good results will be minimum and bad results will be maximum.
If there be malefic planets in the 4th, 5th, 8th or 9th house reckoned from a transiting planet that is favourable, the good effects of transit will be neutralized whereas, if the transit be unfavorable the evils will be increased.
When a planet transits through a sign (whether favorable or unfavorable) if there be another planet moving at the vedha point, the effects of transit will be checked and will not be felt. Vedha points or points of obstructions.
Vedha (points of obstruction) must be taken into consideration while considering the transit effects of various planets -:
Vedha of Jupiter:
There will be obstruction of transiting Jupiter’s good effects in the 2nd house of the natal Moon,if there is a planet in the 12th from the natal Moon.
There will be obstruction of transiting Jupiter’s good effects in the 5th house of the natal Moon, if there is a planet in the 4th from the natal Moon.
There will be obstruction of transiting Jupiter’s good effects in the 7th house of the natal Moon, if there is a planet in the 3rd from the natal Moon.

There will be obstruction of transiting Jupiter’s good effects in the 11th house of the natal Moon, if there is a planet in the 8th from the natal Moon.
Vipareet Vedha of Jupiter:
Transiting Jupiter’s bad effects in the 3rd house from the natal Moon will be neutralized by a planet in the 7th house from the natal Moon.
Transiting Jupiter’s bad effects in the 4th house from the natal Moon will be neutralized by a planet in the 5th house from the natal Moon.
Transiting Jupiter’s bad effects in the 8th house from the natal Moon will be neutralized by a planet in the 11th house from the natal Moon.

Transiting Jupiter’s bad effects in the 12th house from the natal Moon will be neutralized by a planet in the 2nd house from the natal Moon.
Also Most Vital n important are consideration of Asthvarga points (Bindus), for the accurate transits of predictions
Transit seen w/o Ashtakavarga is too superficial and therefore can be misleading. Therefore when the jupitar transits over a sign having more then 4 bindus in its own Bhinnaashtakavarga, favorable results are forseen. less thn 4 bindus results will be inauspicious.
In short, " TRANSIT MAY PROPOSE, DASHA MAY DISPOSE "
